One of the most dependable predictive tools is the 18.6 year cycle of the eclipses, which returns us to the same place in the horoscope like clockwork, irritating and inspiring the individual in the areas in which they remain for approximately 1.5 years. Like a strand of DNA, the eclipse returns suggest an evolution in consciousness in either natal, business or corporation charts, or relationship charts -- ever climbing the rungs of the life ladder leading to our evolution.  

The astronomers define an eclipse as "a temporary loss of light so that we see the shadow", which is perfect, since during the eclipse days and the month preceding them, there is an experience of darkness, knowing that doors are closing, but not knowing which doors to open or even being able to find the doorknob to turn! Though uncomfortable, this is a great thing for us, because as human beings we don't usually make any changes unless we are really uncomfortable, and, the eclipses do make us uncomfortable as well as optimistic, depending on your point of view and your ability to let go when appropriate.  

Even their post-90 day cycles (marked in my upcoming 2008 Starcycles Calendar by firework displays (illustration)), suggest sudden change, which plays out like someone giving you a quick push up that ladder. The 'push' is easier if you develop your ability to let go when your psyche tells you that that is exactly what you should be doing. In addition, the eclipses not only affect our individual lives, but, in fact, hit us on a higher, more universal level. You see the eclipses follow the point of intersection where the Earth's and the Moon's orbits intersect as the Earth rapidly travels around the Sun.

There are two points, one in the North and one in the South, that we call the Nodes, but in lay terms, are designated as the Dragon's Head (North) and the Tail (South). Where the 'head' travels through your chart is where you get a chance to eat the Sun -- i.e. take uncomfortable risks that you aren't your first choice! Where the 'tail' travels is where you must let go so that you evolve up that ladder of evolution.

For the Mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, or, for charts that have these planets in high emphasis, June 4 to June 20, 2007, should bring major changes in personal identity, personal relationships, living situations and professional reputations bringing all that you've been working at to a head -- changes feel like a tidal wave after a long months of surface ripples that alternate with undertow and treading water while trying to catch your breath. Be prepared to shift, move, change, think, adapt for those opportunities that are sure to begin showing their faces this June and getting the 'rest of the story' between August 28 and September 11, 2007.

Following these same dates, the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn have to stay focused on finishing the less exciting, but very important details of living, like resumes, finishing their licensing or credentialing opportunities, clearing up their physical health as well as getting involved in healthier work environments with like-minded people. This last year has been taxing regarding health and psyche. Normally, you folks dive in, get things done, and move on, but this has been a really different experience--not everyone moves as quickly as you do and, therefore, requires a more detailed, and, frankly, more patient, service oriented response from your usually impatient mindsets. There is an old saying that the 'Devil is in the Details' and this has been your challenge over the course of this last year and a half. Nailing down the future often requires nailing down the details and you have been IT! You've been working on listening rather than speaking, learning rather than preaching, and exploring more slowly rather than grabbing the first opportunity. As much as you've learned this is directly related to the wonderful opportunities that present themselves to you....

Cultivating your philosophy and belief systems and accessing your ability to visualize should lead to a far better situation that includes financial and emotional support as well.  

And, finally, for the Fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, which always involve issues of personal values, security, the creative process, support you receive from others, and the results of your own, long-term efforts, though maddening, begin to work in your favor as your two-year 'dark night of the soul' ends its nightmare. Your desire for security, money and knowing are coming. For those of you who put the pedal to the medal over the course of the last two years, cultivating the right associations that align with your values and needs, new opportunities offering more freedom, fun, creativity, and even some pioneering things are in the works after you 'let-go' of those things plaguing you or taking up too much of your time. Part of this includes the ability (after September, 2007) to be freed of family obligations and encumbrances. These occur by either circumstance or natural progression. The positive things to which to look forward are new insights and opportunities for less confining partnerships, new respect and accolades from your communities at large, new home lives and new locations, and, ultimately, birthing babies of your minds for those older and birthing babies of your bodies for those who are ready. All this comes from new identities you've forged from the fires of persistence of the last few years.
